The world around has become too overwhelming lately.
And yes, I know… this might just be my mood of the week
But again, what else is a blog for if not ranting sometimes.
I think a big part of this feeling comes from the fact that the whole world now exists inside the phone in our hand.
You open it for two minutes and suddenly the algorithm throws everything at you.
And this week particularly… I feel like I saw too much.
Even when we consciously don’t want to care about everything, the mind still registers it all subconsciously.
One minute it’s political revolutions and meme pages turning into mass movements.
Then suddenly videos about harassment deaths of two women that completely break your heart.
Then climate videos talking about El Nino and upcoming disasters and honestly, looking at the extreme heat this summer, it doesn’t even feel exaggerated anymore.
Then economic collapse discussions.
NEET paper leak and the news of students suicide and their emotional outburst and helplessness.
Then endless news about some deranged old man sitting in a powerful position somewhere in the White House making mindless decisions that affect the whole world while everyone else just suffers but can’t do anything else to stop one old man.
And in the middle of all this seriousness…
random reels from some Netflix show called Desi Bling keep appearing on my feed and irritating me for absolutely no reason 😭
It’s like the brain is getting pulled in fifty directions at once.
And yes, I know the simple answer is “Just keep the phone aside.”
But that’s the thing.
Most of us are already doing everything else too. We’re busy. We barely have time. Yet somehow in those few minutes of break , between work, meals, travel, exhaustion… we automatically pick up the phone.
Social media has become less of an activity and more of a reflex now.
Like that’s just what the brain naturally does whenever there’s even a small pause in life.
And maybe that’s why everything feels so mentally crowded lately.
Not because we’re personally living through every crisis…
but because we’re constantly consuming all of them at once.
“The human mind was never designed to emotionally process the entire world every single day.”
